Associate Chemist

For our wood coatings laboratory based to Pianoro (Bologna) we are actively looking for an Associate Chemist. In this role, you will perform entry-level analyses, testing, and formulation of new products.

- Perform analyses, tests, and development of new or updated formulas,
- Formula optimization process works with process team to ensure the productivity.
- Quality investigations activities to support ARC analysis.
- Provide feedback, test results, and data regarding the formulation process and recommends modifications to formulas.
- Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Respond to standard to moderately complex questions and concerns from plants, research technicians, quality control, and other internal parties regarding development and related programs and services,
- Operate, clean, and calibrate a variety of equipment that requires professional judgment and background; also utilize technical or standard equipment during projects,
- Development and/or modification of complex products such as pigmented pastes, bases and stains, through planning, executing and analysis of experiments with clear and accurate results, checking color acceptance, matching target colors.
- Evaluation and test of several RM (pigments, dyes, pastes, dispersant etc)
- Management of actual and future tinting system:

- products, color formulas and equipment (dispenser, spectrophotometer and color software)
- maintenance and support to Internal, Vendors and Customers, solving technical issues and also through training and data result presentations. ( so required Fluent English & customer oriented
- possibility also to visit customer)
- Degree in Chemistry (Industrial Chemistry ideally),
- Demonstrate knowledge of various technologies, instruments, and materials.
- Understanding of fundamental professional chemistry principles and practices;
- Formulation skills,
- Good communication and analytical skills,
- Italian/English
