**YOUR TEAM**

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where experts in neurophysiology, cellular/molecular neurobiology, neurotechnologies and behavioral neuroscience and rodent genetics collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

The Brain Development and Disease Research line is coordinated by Laura Cancedda, who has extensive experience in the study of brain development under physiological and pathological conditions in rodents. The lab has also a strong commitment in translational research and technology transfer activities (e.g., clinical trials, sponsored research agreements with pharma companies, potential launch of startups).

The overall goal of the lab is indeed to understand the molecular determinants of neuronal circuit development in health and disease with a combination of in vivo and in vitro methods to find new therapeutic approaches (Savardi et al., Trends in Neuroscience, 2021; Parrini et al., Molecular Therapy, 2021; Savardi et al., Chem, 2020; Naskar et al., Nature Communications, 2019; Szczurkowska et al., Brain 2018; Deidda et al., Nature Medicine, 2015).

This specific project will focus on the differentiation in neurons of iPS cells derived from patients with neurodevelopmental disorders to understand molecular mechanisms underlying defective neuronal development and find potential molecular targets for future drug-discovery programs.

The ideal applicant has a strong experience in differentiation of iPS cells. Experience in performing RNA-seq experiments and bioinformatic analysis is a big plus.

**WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE**
- A PhD in_ neuroscience or related disciplines_, including _neurobioinformatics and neurodevelopmental disorders_ and similar disciplines
- Documented experience on the neuronal differentiation from IPS cell lines, cell and molecular biology. Experience in performing RNA-seq experiments and bioinformatic analysis would be a big plus.
- A strong publication record
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
- Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
- Good command in spoken and written English
