**What is your role?**

The Category Buyer is responsible of a wide range of activities, from administrative to tactical and strategic, involved with the purchase of brake pad components, that require the skills to identify cost-saving opportunities, create competitive environments, effectively negotiate, and make contracts to assure continuous availability of all required products to support the company demand. He/She manages product sourcing strategy.

The Category Buyer will be in charge of:

- She/He leads the categories supplier panel defining together with the Advanced Purchasing Buyer the long term strategy of the categories of metal stamping, rubber-steel stamping and surface treatment.
- Negotiate contracts implementation as consignment stock and full price list
- Embrace the cost breakdown negotiation approach linked to the main product cost drivers
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity (e.g vendor agreements, material records)
- Ensures procurement execution (transactional operations) in alignment with internal processes
- Perform cost reduction opportunity creation and implementation to meet annual targets
- Ensures, through proper negotiations with the supplier, the best purchasing conditions (price, means of payment and delivery deadlines)
- Solicit and evaluate proposals
- Meet day-to-day short-term objective and resolve issues through immediate action or short term planning
- Support on solving supplier issues such as account payable resolution, quality defects, past due deliveries and risks related to production
- Keep track and report cost savings or avoidances
- Ensure in advance the procurement involvement and increase the involvement itself
- Plans and manages company’s overall sourcing strategy
- Develops and administers an efficient global supply chain and monitors inventory for all global products and assists to increase growth
- Conducts market research, as well as creating cost estimates and forecasts.

- Assists with development, implementation and management of effective procurement best practices, policies and procedures
- Establish strong collaborative supplier and business relationships to ensure maximum support to the business
- Supplier performance management to ensure adherence to terms and conditions

Requisiti di posizione:
**Qualification / Requirements:
- Degree in technical/economical disciplines
- Professional use of MS Office tools
- Excellent knowledge of market analysis, sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management 'should-cost' models, and negotiations, supplier continuous improvement programs/Lean Initiatives
- Excellent facilitation and issue resolution skills; ability to drive consensus
- Ability to interpret and adjust to situations that involve conflicting goals
- Ability to effectively prioritize work
- Strong business, leadership, planning and organizing skills; including the ability to provide innovative, strategic ideas to management, communicate value, gain approval and implement effectively
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to effectively manage across multiple organizational levels to achieve project objectives or milestones
- Ability to participate as a team-member as well as leader in a fast paced, global team oriented environment
- Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a plus
- Problem solving skills combined with a strategic mindset
