Local Unit & Position Description:
DNV is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated
**Environmental and Permitting Consultant** to join our Regional Team in Italy. We offer a full-time position reporting to the Project Engineering & Due Diligence (Wind) Team Leader for Italy and East Mediterranean.
The Consultant will be based in the Imola, Bologna or Milan office and involved in independent and owner’s engineering services through the entire lifecycle of renenable energy projects and for a wide range of Customers, supported by colleagues from other disciplines. While main focus is expected to be on-shore and off-shore wind energy, the consultant will be part of a group of experts specialised in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) services and it is expected significant involvement in solar projects and other renewable energy fields.
The Consultant will spend the majority of the time conducting direct project work for Customers and project management. It will be considered a plus if the person is recognized as an expert in the renewable energy industry and has previous experience in project development.
**Tasks may include**
- Direct Project Work. As part of the daily work, it is expected that the consultant will lead and be involved in:
- Technical Due Diligence process for renewables projects under development and in operation.
- Owners Engineering desktop services for supporting solar project development, construction and operation; and
- Project Construction Monitoring and on-site inspections.
- Technical review of the administrative process required to obtain project authorization.
- Project Management. The Consultant will coordinate and manage DNV international internal resources, as well as subcontractors, for the execution of projects and ensure that projects are delivered on-time and within budget, as well as meeting Customers’ expectations in terms of quality.
Position Qualifications:
**To qualify, we need you to have**:
- At least Bachelor’s degree in engineering. MSc Degree will be a plus.
- 3+ years of professional experience in the renewable energy sector (preferable in consultancy or engineering companies) and at least 2 years in the wind energy sector in Italy;
- Experience in technical due diligence processes, with special focus on environmental and permitting review;
- Experience in Environmental, Social and Governance services will be a plus.
- Experience in wind and solar project development will be a plus.
- Lead and support independent qualitative and quantitative analysis;
- Willingness to travel across the country and internationally;
- Ability to work independently, with an internal team, and with external partner organizations;
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Familiarity with GIS tools as well as other energy simulation software;
- Valid driving license.
