The Gross group is looking for a Research Technician who will participate in neuroscience research as part of an interdisciplinary team of young scientists working within a highly collaborative international environment. The Gross group uses a combination of in vivo electrophysiology, ethological behavior assessment, and molecular genetics neural monitoring and manipulation tools to study how social behaviors in mice are controlled and adapted to a changing environment. The person appointed to this position will have expertise in and be responsible for at least one of the following major tasks, depending on their interests and qualifications:
(a) Computational data analysis tasks:
they willbe in charge of quantitative analysis of electrophysiology, behavior, and calcium imaging data, software development, and computational modeling (b) In vivo electrophysiology, calcium imaging, and optogenetics tasks:
they will build and troubleshoot devices for performing in vivo LFP and/or single unit recording and optogenetics combined with complex behavior analysis
Your role In addition to the above tasks, the post holder will have a key role in general laboratory management and organization, the maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment, training of lab members in essential techniques, supervision of trainees where needed, and providing general support for group members throughout their scientific projects.
