**Maintenance & Reliability Specialist**

The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and engineering expertise to the Production Maintenance Unit to improve the overall equipment efficiency, run time efficiency and reliability. Responsible for anticipating future maintenance and engineering equipment needs. Responsible for the analysis of actual equipment design and performs failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and Breakdown Analysis (BDA).

Recommend changes in design of new and existing equipment to attaining customer-specified operational reliability levels, using reliability engineering knowledge and other techniques. Initiates the development and implementation of new approaches and maintains close communication with Engineering Department and Production to exchange pertinent project information. Develop and implement practices to maximize production equipment uptime. Conducts all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Values, & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP and internal EH&S standards), environmental guidelines, etc.

The role is key to drive quality, safety, and cost improvements.

**Main responsibilities**
- Develop and implement maintenance strategy for production equipment and ensure all maintenance plans are up-to-date, effective, and aligned to improve performance and production efficiency.
- Identifies and leads Maintenance team in implementing practices to maximize equipment uptime based on priorities defined by each area.
- Execute, lead and take ownership of actions derived from BDAs and investigations related to equipment improvements or replacement
- Monitors and trends equipment MTTR and MTBF.
- Establishes corrective and preventive measures to avoid equipment failure recurrences.
- Establishes criticality of equipment and establishes reliability strategy for the production equipment.
- Monitors the Work Order backlog and PM schedule execution and ensures adherence.
- Assists with troubleshooting of critical equipment operation difficulties as they arise.
- Acts as a role model by demonstrating safe work practices.
- Enforces safety rules and recognized safe behavior and practices.
- Partners with Operations in implementing cost and efficiency improvement projects (i.e. yield and/or productivity improvement).
- Provides support in new equipment capital project implementation to assure site standardization of equipment and practices.
- Provides support for capital projects which includes but not limited to the introduction of new equipment, new products, new processes, changes in process, formulation changes, equipment upgrades and improvements.
- Supports validation activities of equipment, product or processes as required which includes installation, EHS inspection, drawings verification, instrumentation verification, measurements and/or functional testing.
- Generates requisition and follow up on the receiving of items for proper invoice processing.
- Ensures compliance with Procurement Guidelines
- Coordinates and supervises outside vendor support for activities that includes corrective/preventive maintenance and/or projects.
- Ensure that vendors receive appropriate training and that all documentation is submitted.

**Basic Qualification**
- Master's degree in engineering
- Strong technical background.
- 3 years plus experience in maintenance and/or reliability in the pharmaceutical industry or similar industry within Engineering.
- Proficient with personal computers and analytical testing.
- Proficient in problem solving techniques.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, both in Italian and English.

**Preferred qualifications**
- SAP PM experience.
- Six Sigma and FMEA tools strong knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience in Reliability Maintenance is highly desirable.
- Leadership and project/team management experience desirable.
- Passion for Mechanic and new technology highly desirable.
- Knowledge in Predictive Maintenance Technologies desirable.
- Experience in implementation of Maintenance programs is considered a strong plus.
