As part of a larger group that uses next-generation sequencing approaches, we are recruiting a new colleague graduate or a tech with experience to work on exciting projects derived from the collaborative interactions with many different scientific groups within Humanitas Clinical Center as well outside the hospital.

**Skills and responsibilities**
- be responsible for maintaining the state-of-the-art next-generation sequencing platforms and protocols.
- Organize the work independently.
- Support and supervise other groups in sample preparation as well as in quality check.
- Cooperate with other groups to implement novel technologies.
- Constantly optimize protocols and maximize cost-effectiveness.
- Participate actively in the facility activity.
- Report regularly on progress to the HuGe chair.
- Build effective links and collaborations

**Job requirements**
- **Bachelor's Degree or higher **in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or a related field of science.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in the use of sequencing technologies.
- Experience in **genomic DNA/RNA extraction and quality control using kits and/or automated solutions** from difference sources.
- **Experience with library preparation and sequencing on Illumina platforms (MySeq, NextSeq 550, NexSeq2000, Novaseq6000).**:

- Previous equivalent experience in a Genomics Core Facility (not mandatory).
- Documented experience in operating and developing NGS protocols starting from any kind of material (solid and liquid biopsy, snap frozen or FFPE).
- Excellent laboratory skills and trouble-shooting.
- **Strong communication and interpersonal skills.** **Proven ability to work in a research laboratory both autonomously and as part of a team** to drive projects forward.
- **Written and spoken English**.
- Proven communication, team building and problem-solving skills.
