**Engineering Manager Traction - Italy**:

ABB’s Traction Division has a strong position in the global market. We develop and produce traction converters, auxiliary converters and energy storage systems for railway, E-Mobility and special vehicles. To strengthen and grow our Competence Center in Genoa, we are looking for a passionate Engineering Manager for the Local Engineering Center in Genoa, Italy. If you have a keen interest in leading a department with three Engineering teams, promote and demand individuals and helping to shape the leadership culture, this is your chance. In this role, you will drive team performance to ensure that all requirements are met and customer expectations are exceeded, with a focus on safety, on-time delivery, quality and improved margins.

**This position reports to**:
Global Engineering Manager

**Your responsibilities**:

- Be the leader and entrepreneur of the Local Engineering Center in Genoa, Italy.
- Teach, coach and mentor your department team leaders and members to enable them for taking responsibility in the project portfolio, support initiatives for integrity, safety, diversity and inclusion.
- Foster global collaboration and knowledge sharing with other Traction Engineering and R&D sites globally.
- Optimize the engineering capacity and competency by aligning with Global Engineering, Product Management, R&D and Operations to drive processes and technologies in the same direction.
- Offer an “easy to work with” organization towards partners and customers (internal and external).
- Support and potentially lead strategic initiatives to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the Engineering Center.

**Your background**:

- Bachelor or Master degree in an engineering discipline with already several years of leadership experience.
- Experience in innovative drive technology, ideally in moving trains and other vehicles.
- Endurance and assertiveness to grow and enable an Engineering department.
- Communications skills to solve complex challenges (organizational and technical).
- English and Italian communication skills to motivate your department and satisfy our customers.
