Our company is a fast-growing global company based in Harpenden. We are centralising the Accounting function across the International companies and this role will support the centralisation, manage the Accounting and improve efficiency. This covers multiple companies across all International companies.

This position requires an Italian-speaking accountant to take over the Italian Accounting for Isagro Spa currently performed in Italy. If based in the UK, the role will involve extensive travel to Italy, gaining knowledge of the Accounting, statutory and tax requirements and integration of the company into our central ERP system.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support the centralisation of Accounting functions
- Manage the month end close process for designated companies
- Manage the year end close process for designated companies
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of reporting
- Liaise with local teams and support the preparation of all tax requirements including VAT, EC Sales, Intrastat and Corporation Tax returns
- Liaise with local teams to prepare local Statutory accounts.
- Liaise with local teams in all Audits, working with Auditors providing information requested in a timely manner.
- Ownership and Preparation of all monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review with Financial Controller and Senior Management
- Management reporting, monthly reviews and involvement in Budget preparation
- Business Partner to the Italian Senior Manager
- Continuous improvement of all processes
- Participate in ad hoc tasks and projects when required

**SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:

- ** Ability to speak and write fluently in Italian**:

- Ability to work well in a pressurised environment
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the business
- Organised, proactive, process orientated and deadline driven
- Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- ERP System experience preferable (JD Edwards, E1 or Enterprise one)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong problem solving, conflict management and decision making skills
- Self-motivated, flexible able to work independently or within a team environment

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 3 - 5 years International Accounting or Finance experience or a combination of qualifications and experience.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or Master's degree is preferred.
- Strong IT skills are essential, with advanced Excel use ( pivot, macros)
- Familiar with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards Enterprise ( Enterprise One)
- Understanding of Italian Tax rules, though this can be learnt
- Strong proficiency in Italian
