The Business Analyst will act as a bridge between the business and technical organisations in the scoping and delivery of ERP projects. The role involves understanding business processes and problems, and helping stakeholders translate these into requirements which will enable effective IT solutions to be found.

This Business Analyst position will focus on the needs of Serco’s global Finance teams, as the use of SAP is rolled out to new contracts and acquisitions, and improvements are made to the existing landscape. The Business Analyst will produce key project documents such as the Business Requirements Definition and Requirements Traceability Matrix, and will support the analysis of current processes and assessment of how they fit to the global SAP template. Where customisation is required, the Business Analyst will help clarify the local requirements for the technical team, and contribute to user training and post-go-live support as part of overall Business Change Management.

As an **ERP Business Analyst** you will be responsible for:

- Understand business needs as they relate to a business change or transformation
- Elicit, validate, prioritise and document business and technical requirements.
- Where required, produce detailed User Stories that offer a description of the situation, identify the scenario, document the business requirements, and specify the necessary acceptance criteria
- Explain technical jargon to non-technical/commercial teams
- Proactively communicate with external and internal stakeholders to analyse information needs, functional requirements, and business processes
- Collaborate with technical architects to understand technology limitations and options to meet business needs
- Model and map business processes and assist with the development of solutions to improve these processes and address business problems
- Work with internal development teams to facilitate the implementation of new technology and systems
- Contribute to training and support for people affected by new systems and processes

**Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications**:

- Confidence working with complex data and systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels of an organisation
- An understanding of how IT can be used to resolve problems
- An understanding of key Finance business processes across the three major domains - Record to Report, Order to Cash and Procure to Pay
- An understanding of ERP architecture and user interaction with the components of the system
- Time management and organisational skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, thorough and technically accurate written materials in English
- A self-starter, comfortable working in a fast paced, changing environment

- **This role will be home-based within Europe, but may require occasional travel to European and UK office locations**
