Our customer, a project driven Italian company part of an international listed Group, is currently looking for a:

FINANCE DIRECTOR

The resource will report to the Managing Director, and he/she will manage a finance team of 4 people.

He/ she will be a key member of the Board, responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial reporting and compliance matters for the company

Aim

- Support the MD in managing the Company
- Ensure timely financial reporting to the Group on a monthly basis
- Ensure revenue recognition and project accounting is done as per the Group guidelines
- Lead the adoption of practices to comply with the Group’s internal compliance controls
- Support the business operations from a financial & administrative point of view
- Be part of the Board and play a crucial role in the development of the business both strategically and operationally

Main Responsibilities

- Act as a hands-on finance leader with responsibility for oversight and protection of the financial integrity of the company and its assets
- Ensure that the company’s accounts and records are properly maintained in line with Group accounting standards; deliver appropriate statutory, tax and regulatory reports and returns in required timeframes and formats
- Oversee all aspects of compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements as well as Group policies
- Perform financial planning & analysis functions including strategic planning, competitive analysis, budgeting, forecasting and operational analyses to inform strategic and tactical decisions made by the company
- Provide high quality management information, improving business insights

Requirements:

- Educated to Degree level, with a professional accounting qualification
- Relevant professional experience in working in a project driven organization and application of IFRS15 revenue recognition principles in practice
- Ideally experience with international finance requirements and being part of a larger and ideally listed group with a head office and Sector/Group functions located abroad
- Demonstrable experience as a Finance Director and operating at the board level or ready to advance into executive leadership
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, and experienced with ERP/business systems
- Previous knowledge and experience of leading people
- Team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and persuasively with a wide variety of people and cultures across the organization
- Possess a forward-looking, hands-on approach with resilience and adaptability
- Proven leader, operating as a commercially and operationally minded partner
- Collaborative problem solver with strong relationship-building skills and high emotional intelligence
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
- Ability to set clear and challenging goals and objectives, underpinned by KPIs, with constructive accountability
- Fluent in Italian and English a must
