Director of Rooms

This luxury 5-star property is looking for a Director of rooms. The Director of Rooms is a strategic and operational leader responsible for managing the Front Office, Housekeeping and Reservations teams. With a direct team of four and broader oversight of room‑division operations, this role plays a central part in delivering an exceptional guest journey from arrival to departure, with a consistent focus on wellness, sustainability, and emotional hospitality.

This position is part of the Executive Committee and reports jointly to the General Manager and Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the performance and daily operations of the Front Office, Housekeeping and Reservations departments

- Ensure guest experiences reflect the brand's pillars of well‑being, sustainability and personalized service

- Foster a culture of care, mindfulness and excellence within the Rooms team

- Lead recruitment, training and development initiatives to build a highly motivated and service‑driven team

- Implement operational strategies that support energy conservation, reduced waste and wellness‑oriented service delivery

- Monitor guest feedback and satisfaction metrics, implementing improvements as needed

- Maintain close collaboration with all departments, especially Spa, F&B and Engineering, to ensure seamless guest service

- Oversee departmental budgets, productivity and staffing levels with a focus on efficiency and quality

- Represent the Rooms Division in strategic discussions at the Executive Committee level

Candidate Profile

- 3–5 years of experience in a leadership position within a well‑structured, international hotel group, preferably in Italy

- Strong operational knowledge of luxury hotel Rooms Division functions

- Experience leading both Front Office and Housekeeping teams in a 5‑star environment

- Fluent in Italian and English; additional languages are highly desirable

- Passionate about wellness, sustainability and innovative guest service

- Empathetic leader with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills

- Ability to thrive in a high‑expectation, detail‑focused and collaborative environment
