Overview
Gallagher Re Italy is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Actuary to join our team, with potential involvement in Catastrophe Analytics projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex and impactful projects, combining actuarial expertise with catastrophe risk modeling to support our clients' risk management and strategic planning needs. The ideal candidate will bring 2-5 years of actuarial experience, a strong technical foundation, and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement actuarial models to evaluate insurance and reinsurance risks, supporting the design of reinsurance strategies.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver detailed analyses and provide decision‑making support.
Partner with the Catastrophe Analytics team to assess risks associated with catastrophic events.
Contribute to the structuring, evaluation, and optimization of reinsurance programs.
Monitor and analyze market trends and regulatory developments impacting insurance risks.
Automate processes and develop analytical tools using programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including brokers, analysts, and other actuaries, to deliver tailored solutions to clients.

About you

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
2-5 years of actuarial experience, preferably within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
Advanced knowledge of actuarial tools, techniques, and methodologies.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, along with experience in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or equivalents.
Familiarity with actuarial software and modeling tools (RMS, Verisk, or similar) is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken).
