Come build the future of Quick Commerce with the Amazon Now (Tez) team We’re building a brand-new, from-the-ground-up initiative in the fast-growing world of Quick Commerce, and we’re looking for a passionate, driven Software Development Manager (SDM) to help lead the way.
This is a true Greenfield opportunity where we’re creating an entirely new shopping experience that reimagines how customers discover, shop, and receive products - all within minutes. Our charter spans the entire supply chain optimizations: from AI/ML based forecasting, automated buying to an efficient transhipment, seamless hub operations, best in class inventory management and delightful vendor experiences.
You’ll be joining a tight-knit, high-caliber team of Senior SDEs, Principal Engineers, Applied Scientists and TPMs who are energized by solving customer problems at scale. You’ll have end-to-end ownership, deep technical challenges, and a rare opportunity to shape not just a product, but an entirely new business for Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
- Own building Amazon first ground-up tech capabilities and products
- You will own building technology that innovates for the fast growing e-commerce domain in India and beyond
- To enable this business initiatives, you will lead the definition and execution of strategic projects aimed at building best-in-class experience for customer and delivery experience
- You will have end to end ownership of cross-functional projects, including product definition, roadmap/resource planning and project execution.
- You will work closely with product, business, category and marketing leadership, including executive leadership at Amazon, to define the product and build vision for the program.
- At the heart of this role is technology innovation. You will be hands‑on in driving the delivery of critical technical initiatives, right from building the vision, requirements definition, designing solution with Amazon first innovation in combination with leveraging Amazon’s global technology solutions and delivering high quality scalable tech capabilities.
- As a leader, you will deliver through exceptional engineers and work closely with technical program managers, principal engineers while hiring and developing a world‑class engineering team.

About the team We are fast‑paced and focussed team made of passionate and ambitious Amazonians who strive to build industry leading products while closely collaborating and having fun. The team is made of Amazon veterans and are working on first time in Amazon initiatives which will scale beyond India and grocery. The team follows a flexible and collaborative work culture with ample mentoring and guidance from senior leaders. The team values high ownership, bias for action and insist on highest standards and follows build fast and iterate fast methodology. The team is suitable for passionate leaders who are equally interested in contributing to business and product roadmap while leading a high performing and high velocity team.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of engineering experience
- 2+ years of engineering team management experience
- 6+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
