We are seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Compliance Officer to build, lead, and safeguard our global compliance framework. You will be the cornerstone of our integrity, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations, mitigating risks, and fostering a strong culture of compliance across the company in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Objective: To develop, implement, and maintain Lunu Pay’s global compliance strategy, ensuring operational adherence to all regulations, safeguarding the company, and managing all regulatory relationships.

What You’ll Do

1. Regulatory Strategy & Framework Development

- Develop and oversee Lunu Pay’s global compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to AML, KYC, CFT, GDPR, FCA, and other relevant regulations.
- Establish, monitor, and update internal policies, procedures, and controls to prevent financial crimes, fraud, and money laundering.
- Stay updated on international regulatory changes and assess their impact on Lunu Pay’s operations, proactively implementing necessary adjustments.

2. Regulatory Engagement & Reporting

- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies (e.g., CONSOB), financial institutions, and legal advisors to maintain compliance with evolving crypto and financial regulations.
- Lead and manage compliance audits, risk assessments, and ensure timely fulfillment of all regulatory reporting requirements.
- Represent Lunu Pay in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and partnerships to influence policy and best practices.

3. Operational Process Control & Payments

- Organize and control the entire payments cycle (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) process, validating justification and documentation.
- Develop and maintain financial process policies (expense approval, invoicing).
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Support teams on payment issues, refunds, and contract terms.

4. Operational Compliance & Risk Management

- Handle customer and merchant due diligence (CDD/EDD) processes, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting (SAR).
- Conduct regular compliance training and awareness programs for employees to ensure best practices are followed.
- Analyze financial crime, fraud, and operational risks, and propose effective mitigation measures.

5. FinTech / Crypto Industry Specifics

- Apply in-depth knowledge of blockchain and crypto-specific compliance challenges, including wallet monitoring, travel rule compliance, and exchange-related regulations.
- Participate in assessing the compliance feasibility and regulatory risk of new products, services, and market expansions.

What We’re Looking For

- 5+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal roles within FinTech, payments, banking, or the cryptocurrency industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and EU financial regulations, with a strong focus on FCA requirements, AML/CFT, KYC, and GDPR. Familiarity with other global frameworks is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build a culture of compliance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt quickly to regulatory changes.
- Certified compliance professional (e.g., CAMS, ICA, CRCM) is a significant advantage.
- Fluent English; additional languages are a bonus.
