Within the Space Division, we are looking for an AIT Engineer for the Pomezia (RM) site.
This person will be responsible for the integration, alignment and testing of opto-mechanical sub-assemblies and active elements (laser cavities, solid-state amplification chambers, non-linear crystals) within Laser and Lidar systems for Space, and related qualification tests of the integrated apparatus. The work will primarily take place within clean rooms with temperature, humidity and contamination control and monitoring (ISO-6 and ISO-5 class).
Main activities:
- Drafting of integration and test phase documentation (procedures, reports, as-built)
- Conception and use of electrical, thermal, optical and mechanical measurement and testing setups (GSE)
- Alignment activities of active laser elements within optical benches of a space payload
- Measurement and complete characterization of laser beams (spatial profile, temporal, spectral characteristics and stability over time and in environmental qualification conditions)
- Experience in facilities for the qualification of space equipment: TV chambers, Shaker, thermal conditioning equipment, ground units for electrical command and control
- Support for internal and customer quality inspections
- Support for the qualification activities of special processes
- Execution of tests using CMM, theodolites, microscopes, interferometers, Faro Arm Objectives:
- Become autonomous in the integration, testing and qualification of our space laser equipment
- Be able to align laser cavities, amplification and harmonic conversion sections, evaluating the intermediate and final performance of each active element and section of the laser system
- Concurrent engineering during the design phases to avoid possible risks during future product integration
Education:
- Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering and/or Physics Nice to Have: having taken exams in optics and/or quantum optics, photonics, opto-electronics, solid-state physics and/or having carried out experimental theses with optical/laser measurement benches. Required experience level:
- Junior: 1-3 years of experience in the role
- Expert: 3-5 years of experience in the role Technical skills and knowledge:
- Familiarity with tools for mechanical integration and optical inspection
- Methodology, ability to execute test procedures, aptitude for traceability of activities performed
- Familiarity with the use of E/O instrumentation and for Laser measurements (radiometers, profilometers, oscilloscopes, photodiodes, spectroscopes, etc.)
- Use of theodolite, autocollimator, interferometer, reference laser
- Ability to collect and process advanced data (correlations, statistics, domain transformations, etc.)
- Ability to define and elaborate test documentation and technical reports
- Experience in the LABVIEW development environment will be a preferential title
- Previous experience working in Class ISO 5 Clean Rooms (old Class 100) is a preferential title Behavioral competencies:
