JOB DESCRIPTION
Isotta Fraschini Motori, part of the Fincantieri Group, is an Italian excellence in the design of generation and propulsion systems for advanced marine and industrial applications. The company is committed to developing integrated and sustainable energy solutions, with a strong focus on digital innovation, hybrid systems, and low-emission technologies. The resource will be inserted into the Project Engineering team and will be responsible for the conception, sizing, and hardware development of complex electrical power panels and systems, with a focus on electrochemical systems (Fuel Cells and BESS). The role covers the integration of AC/DC sources, power converters, protection coordination, VFD drives, and field interfacing, following the entire product life cycle up to the testing, validation, and design transfer phases. # ACTIVITIES

Key Responsibilities
* Design & Electrochemical Generation: Hardware development and sizing of panels/systems for Fuel Cells and BESS; management of DC-bus architectures and integration of DC/DC converters, inverters, and BMS/auxiliary systems.
* Protections & Distribution: Definition of specifications for LV and auxiliary panels (24VDC / 230VAC); conductor sizing, short-circuit current calculation, and selectivity studies with dedicated protections (circuit breakers, ultra-fast fuses, SPDs).
* Drives & Safety: Integration and parameterization of VFDs for auxiliary loads, management of EMC filters, fieldbuses (Modbus, PROFINET, CANopen), and PLC interfacing; integration of safety chains (ESD, STO, interlocks) in ATEX / hydrogen contexts.
* Validation & Design Transfer: Execution of functional tests and inspections in the laboratory/yard; preparation of technical documentation (electrical diagrams, BOM, calculations) and management of design transfer to production and external panel builders. # REQUIREMENTS Requirements

Education:
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrotechnical Engineering.
*

Experience:
Consolidated experience as a hardware electrical designer for panels, power systems, or energy conversion.
* Technical

Skills:
Knowledge of BESS/Fuel Cell electrical dynamics (DC/DC and DC/AC interfaces) and mastery of relevant electrical standards (CEI EN 61439, CEI 64-8 / IEC 60364, IEC 60204-1).
* Software: Good knowledge of 2D/3D CAD software for electrical diagrams and wiring (AutoCAD, CREO Cabling Design).
* Languages: Good knowledge of English (B1 level or higher).
* Soft Skills & Other: Management autonomy, problem-solving attitude in multidisciplinary teams, and willingness to travel for testing/site work. Nice to Have
* Knowledge of E-CAD packages (EPLAN Electric P8, SPAC Automazione) and network calculation software (Caneco BT, DOC ABB, i-Project).
* VFD configuration and experience with EMC regulations (IEC 61800-3).
* Regulatory requirements for ATEX/hydrogen installations and standards for lithium storage (CEI EN 62619, NFPA 855).
* Integration of alternators and traditional generator sets. Compensation & Benefit Package

- € 44,000.
