Location: Bastiglia, Emilia-Romagna (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Tinental is a technology company applying Artificial Intelligence to real industrial data. We tackle real-world challenges in energy efficiency, plant reliability, automation, and decision support, taking AI models and systems all the way from research into production.

Our work happens in complex, high-stakes environments: noisy data, strict industrial constraints, and demanding requirements for robustness, reliability, and measurable impact.

We are expanding our R&D team and are looking for an AI Engineer to join us. The role is open to Junior, Mid-level, or Senior candidates. Seniority and responsibilities will be determined based on your experience and skills.

What You’ll Work On (Project Examples):

Your projects will match your experience and interests.

- Tinental Agents
- A growing ecosystem of AI agents powering automation and orchestration inside our Caleno platform (LLMs, RAG, tool usage, complex workflows)
- Computer Vision & Industrial ML
- Training, evaluating, and validating ML/CV models in real industrial environments, with all the constraints that come with production systems
- MLOps & Production AI
- End-to-end pipelines, observability, continuous iteration, and scaling on HPC/GPU infrastructure

What You’ll Do:

You’ll collaborate closely with a highly technical team to deliver robust, maintainable, and measurable AI solutions that actually run in production. Depending on your profile, you’ll contribute to:

- Machine Learning
- Computer Vision
- Generative AI / LLMs
- RAG and agent-based systems

You’ll work on end-to-end AI systems, from idea to production: data → models → deployment → monitoring

Responsibilities by Level:

Junior:

- Dataset preparation and feature engineering
- Guided model training and baseline development
- Metrics analysis and clear documentation
- Supporting PoCs and experimentation

Mid-Level:

- Ownership of models or system components
- Designing and running experiments
- Integrating AI solutions into products
- Post-release monitoring and continuous improvement

Senior:

- Defining architectures and technology choices
- Contributing to the technical roadmap
- Mentoring team members
- Ensuring industrial-grade robustness, scalability, and quality

What We’re Looking For:

- Strong Python skills and solid ML/DL fundamentals

Experience in at least one of:

- Computer Vision
- NLP
- LLMs / Generative AI
- RAG
- Agent systems
- Git proficiency
- A rigorous mindset around metrics, experimentation, and validation
