Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo – and potentially humans in the longer run. We want you as a talented MAIT Mechanisms and MGSE CAD Engineer to help us in our mission by making sure that NYX mechanisms are successfully assembled and tested.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, execute and manage the mechanical integration and tests of our space subsystems.
Support test activities in TEC facilities or at partner facilities for specific tests.
Design the required MGSEs for our spacecraft mechanisms (mechanical + electro‑mechanical).
Make calculation/stress analysis demonstrating good safety margins for the MGSEs.
Deliver the detailed design of the MGSEs (3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing of all the parts).
What We Would Love To See From You
Engineering degree (Master or PhD) in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience with mechanical AIT (preparation, operation execution and management, reporting).
Experience with MGSEs, tooling and test setup design.
Comfortable with a CAD tool for 3D modelling and drafting, e.g. Siemens NX.
Basic understanding and experience with mechanical structural analysis.
Experience in the AIT of aerospace vehicles is a plus.
Organised and rigorous.
Hands‑on approach.
Familiarity with different manufacturing processes.
Inventive and problem solver.
Team spirit.
