Job Description

Within the CTO Area, we are looking for an Innovation & Capability Specialist for our office in Rome via Tiburtina 1020. The selected person will contribute to the development and evolution of high-tech products and services in the various domains in which our CSS Line of Business of the Electronics Division operates (including logistics information systems, test equipment, experimental ranges, and training solutions). Working in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, they will be involved in identifying innovative solutions, defining the technical-operational capabilities to support the company's offering, and enhancing emerging technologies in line with the strategic objectives of the business. The role will also play an active part in promoting and validating new project proposals, contributing to the company's positioning in a highly competitive and constantly evolving context. The person will be responsible for the following main activities:
- Analyze technological trends and emerging solutions (e.g., AI, AR/VR, Data Analytics, Blockchain) relevant to the application domains of the CSS LoB.
- Contribute to the definition of innovative capabilities to support the evolution of the company's offering.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and innovation units for the enhancement and promotion of new products and services.
- Participate in the technical specification of complex solutions and systems, with attention to interoperability and modular architecture.
- Support demonstration, experimentation, and validation activities, both internally and with external customers and entities.
- Contribute to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of technical data to support exercises, simulations, and use cases.
- Participate in initiatives, workshops, and exercises aimed at fostering technological innovation in the reference domains.
- Draft technical documentation and summary reports to support business decisions and communication with customers. In addition, the person will be involved in the governance activities of investment initiatives, in particular:
- Management and updating of entrusted investment plans, including progress monitoring and objective verification.
- Cost control and economic commitments, in line with forecasts and budget constraints.
- Preparation of periodic and ad-hoc reports for institutional meetings, internal committees, and external interactions.
- Identification of new investment opportunities in line with the strategic objectives of the LoB.
- Drafting of business cases and project proposals according to company processes and guidelines. Educational qualification: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electronic, Computer, Aerospace, Management Engineering) or similar disciplines. Seniority: Previous experience in similar roles is preferred, with an Expert or Senior level, but motivated junior profiles willing to learn and grow in the role are also positively evaluated. - The person must be able to work closely with real systems, collecting and analyzing data in operational situations, and contributing to the evaluation and optimization of capabilities in realistic scenarios.
- Knowledge of architectures and enabling technologies in complex systems: open architecture, cloud computing, service-oriented architecture, etc., and in the application of emerging technologies: Artificial Intelligence, Virtual/Augmented Reality.
- Familiarity with system engineering processes, with a preference for the Model-Based approach (MBSE).
- Ability to draft/analyze technical specifications and requirements and participate in the design and evaluation of technical-operational capabilities.
