A T&C Research Scientist will have deep industry knowledge, leverage AI/ML tools, analyze data, experiment, stay current with trends, identify opportunities, aid in product and strategy development, and provide insights for T&C around the science of learning.

Key Job Responsibilities

- Engage in discussions with teams to ensure research generates actionable findings.

- Apply scientific research and analysis to design, experiment, and conduct scalable research projects that address opportunities in learning and credentialing for international audiences.

- Identify opportunities to simplify existing research processes and operate more nimbly.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, business, product, and others to define requirements, establish success metrics, and deliver high-quality solutions.

- Use statistical methodologies to understand relationships between key metrics and other related measures (e.g., regression, structural equation modeling, etc.).

- Conduct thorough data analysis to gain insights, identify patterns, and drive actionable recommendations that enhance T&C operational performances and customer experiences.

- Continuously explore/evaluate emerging methodologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of research.

- Analyze performance of methods and models, iteratively improving them based on quantitative metrics and feedback.

- Communicate concepts and findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear explanations and guidance on opportunities and their potential impact.

Basic Qualifications

- Master’s degree or above in a quantitative field

- 1+ years of quantitative field research experience

- Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products

- Experience with data analysis packages (R, SAS, Matlab, etc.)

- Experience using SQL databases to manage and analyze large data sets

Preferred Qualifications

- PhD in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or equivalent

- Experience applying forecasting and data mining techniques

- Knowledge of machine learning processing: computer vision, NLU, NLP, or operations research

- Knowledge of statistics and probability

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
