Business Development Manager for Portable Air Sustainability Solutions in South Europe

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in South Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in our Portable Air Division to drive the growth of portable sustainability solutions.

Mission:

  • Your mission is to deliver the most sustainable product for tough applications with special focus on portable electric compressors, dryers, and nitrogen generators in different market segments. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners, and achieving sustainable growth for the company via our sustainability solutions will lead to improved customer experience as well as CO2 emission reduction for a better future.
  • Drive the growth of our portable air business across Italy, Spain, and Portugal, focusing on portable electric compressors, dryers, and nitrogen generators. Empower our area sales managers with advanced application knowledge and support, enabling success in new market segments.
  • Enhance product and application knowledge through hands-on training and customer visits.
  • Collaborate with the Business Line Manager (BLM), General Manager (GM), and Marketing Team to create a comprehensive potential plan in alignment with divisional guidelines. Identify and explore new application areas for portable air solutions. Partner with area sales managers to capitalize on these opportunities. Support marketing efforts to effectively target the right audiences.
  • Develop and implement a competitive pricing strategy in collaboration with BLMs.
  • Translate and integrate divisional strategies into local business development plans for sustainable products.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Responsibility

  • Foster strong relationships with BLM/GM and divisional teams to craft and execute business marketing plans that meet targets.
  • Create sales tools and total cost of ownership models with marketing to enhance conversion rates.
  • Provide sales support and product training.
  • Innovate marketing programs and organize customer events with the team.
  • Enhance the competence and application knowledge across the South Europe region for the entire portable air product portfolio.

Sales Responsibility and Coverage

  • Expand the portable air business with a focus on portable electric compressors, dryers, and nitrogen generators through direct sales and new market segments.
  • Develop pricing strategies for end customers and distribution channels.
  • Plan and execute strategic and effective customer visits aligned with sales strategies.
  • Manage direct sales activities with a value-based selling approach.
  • Improve territory management by identifying and developing new partners in emerging segments.

Others

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Develop inventory strategies to support dealers and distributors.
  • Coordinate activities between Equipment Sales and PTS departments.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and business ethics, and communicate these standards within the team.
  • Report regularly on market trends and competition.
  • Be prepared for extensive travel within the region (over 60%).

You will report to the Business Line Manager in Italy.

Regional Responsibility: Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical area or equivalent training and education.
  • Minimum of five years of sales management experience, including field sales and territory management of Portable Compressor products.
  • Knowledge and sales experience with electric compressors, dryers, and nitrogen generators is advantageous.
  • Proactive in identifying new prospects and developing new customers.
  • Strong product management and sales management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and facilitation skills.
  • Technical expertise in compressed air and a deep understanding of the market.
  • Strong entrepreneurial skills and analytical abilities.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • The position is based in Italy, preferably in the Lombardia or Lazio area.
