Job Title: Commodity Buyer for Metallic Parts

VHIT S.p.A, a leading supplier of Original Equipment automotive components in the Asian Market, is seeking a motivated candidate to cover the role of Commodity Buyer.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Commodity Buyer to manage the metallic commodity (Aluminum Die Casting and Cast Iron parts) and support the Purchasing Project Manager Supplier Quality Manager during the new component development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the metallic commodity (Aluminum Die Casting and Cast Iron parts)
  • Support the Purchasing Project Manager Supplier Quality Manager during the new component development
  • Define Commodity/Suppliers Strategy
  • Handle supplier selection according to Total Cost of Ownership criteria
  • Be the key point of contact for any business, strategic communication and escalation with supplier, including reporting to management in dedicated committees
  • Assume responsibility for the commodity or material field, including supplier strategy and scouting, negotiation, business bundling, contracting, ordering and supplier database management
  • Be in charge for Change Management ECR for purchased parts applicable for multiple project and management of the Engineering Change Requests and introduction of Design-to-Cost ideas for new or series projects
Requirements
  • Education: Mechanical, automation engineering or similar academic background
  • Experience and Know How: 3 years of experience in the automotive industry or similar experience in large organizations and complex project environments
  • Technical knowledge: Basic knowledge of powertrain components; Basic understanding of the main automotive industry production processes; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project)
  • Personality: goal-orientation and self-driven with entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication and team working skills
