Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost and Materials Manager to join our team at Prysmian Group. As a key member of our Purchasing area, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the bidding process, providing accurate raw material costs during the tender phase.
  2. Collaborate with Corporate Procurement to understand market trends and expected prices for relevant materials.
  3. Define the correct cost for each raw material in the specific tender.
  4. Identify and monitor upcoming volumes for main raw materials, addressing urgent constraints and ensuring material availability, competitiveness, and sustainability.
  5. Support the budgeting process and specific analysis with the collection of future volumes for main raw materials.
  6. Lead projects on materials and suppliers topics, preparing the organization for future opportunities.
  7. Coordinate activities of different functions contributing to the project, such as Quality, R&D, Corporate Procurement, production plants, and System Engineering.
  8. Proactively propose solutions and escalate decisions to the right level.

Requirements:

  1. Business or Engineering background.
  2. Previous experience of more than 5 years.
  3. Solid professional experience as Buyer/Commodity Manager in a structured international organization.
  4. Knowledge of technical fundamentals related to materials (mechanical, chemical, electrical).
  5. Experience in leading projects, coordinating different functions.
  6. Familiarity with complex organizational context and excellent stakeholder management.
  7. Proactive, curious, results-driven, and committed to managing complexity and challenges.
  8. Excellent team-building abilities.
  9. Fluent in English.
  10. Willingness to travel (max 20%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Past experience as Buyer/Commodity Manager in the energy sector.
