Job Title: Satellite Operations Engineer


Leonardo is seeking a skilled Satellite Operations Engineer to join its Flight Control Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting satellite operations, including launch and early orbit phase, commissioning, and routine phase operations.


Main Responsibilities:



  • Develop, test, validate, and maintain flight operations plans and procedures
  • Plan and execute satellite operations in LEOP, commissioning, and routine phase
  • Support analysis and investigation of operational events and anomalies related to the satellite and ground segment elements
  • Prepare and execute system validation tests with the satellite on ground
  • Contribute to simulation campaigns and participate in them
  • Assist in providing training to Mission Control Centre operations personnel
  • Support in-orbit operations coordination of satellite activities with system level operations
  • Support operational validation of Mission Control Centre
  • Prepare operations reports
  • Contribute to satellite long-term analysis and performance assessment
  • Prepare technical notes and attend technical meetings and reviews as necessary

Requirements:



  • University master degree in aerospace
  • At least 1 year of experience in satellite operations

  • Strong interpersonal skills, team working capability, flexibility, and capability to adapt to complex situations
  • Solid programming/software engineering skills with good knowledge of MATLAB, Python, C++, and Java
