The Opportunity

We are seeking a HVAC and Energy Systems Specialist to join our MEP team (Mechanical Electrical & Plumbing) within Arup Milan Office.

As a HVAC and Energy Systems Specialist at Arup, you will:

  • Design mechanical systems, including heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and water distribution, ventilation, air conditioning, water supply, and drainage systems, building automation, and controls.
  • Develop energy and carbon strategies with a focus on Science, Industry, and Technology projects and clients.
  • Liaise with architects, clients, and other stakeholders to set mechanical design constraints and energy/carbon targets and coordinate with all other disciplines.
  • Act as project lead engineer and interface with the client.
  • Manage small project teams.

  • Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering and energy/carbon fundamentals.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical/building/Energy Engineering.
  • Confirmed experience in designing mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Revit MEP.
  • Fluency in both English and Italian, written and spoken.
  • Good communication skills essential for team-based working.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.
  • Proactivity and willingness to take on new challenges.
