Data Steward

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Steward to join our Research Organization Directorate at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. As a Data Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and reusability of research data and metadata in compliance with applicable laws.

About the Role: The successful candidate will work closely with researchers, IT engineers, and legal data experts to design and implement data infrastructures, develop institutional procedures and guidelines, and support the development of Data Management Plan templates and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data infrastructures ensuring quality, integrity, and preservation of (meta)data
• Contribute to the development of institutional procedures and guidelines following international standards and practices
• Inform, train, and advise researchers on RDM topics and questions
• Support the development of Data Management Plan templates and guidelines
• Support preservation and sharing (where possible and desired) of research datasets according to the FAIR principles

Requirements:

• PhD degree in a domain relevant for IIT scientific interests
• Understanding of scientific research processes
• Understanding of data analysis / ML workflows and methods
• Basic programming skills
• Interest in learning RDM, FAIR data, and Open Science
