Project Director Job Description

The City of New York seeks a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to oversee the delivery of capital assets. Reporting directly to the Unit's Deputy Director and Program Director, this individual will manage all project phases, including scoping, initiation, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction.

The selected candidate will coordinate and lead project and site meetings, liaise and collaborate with DDC support units and City Agencies, and manage the performance and deliverables of all vendors. They will utilize all Agency resources to ensure projects meet DDC's Commitment Plan and KPI objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project phases, including scoping, initiation, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction
  • Coordinate and lead project and site meetings
  • Liaise and collaborate with DDC support units and City Agencies
  • Manage the performance and deliverables of all vendors
  • Utilize all Agency resources to ensure projects meet DDC's Commitment Plan and KPI objectives

Requirements:

  • Four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization
  • Five years of full-time satisfactory experience managing and/or inspecting one or more construction projects with a total cost of at least $300,000 for each of the five years of the required experience
  • Valid license as a professional engineer, registered architect, or registered landscape architect
