Treasury Manager

About the Role:

As a Treasury Supervisor at Sonoco Canada, you will play a critical role in coordinating cash flow to meet the needs of our business, while maximizing existing cash flow. This position requires strong financial management skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage working capital and liabilities to ensure cash flows meet company commitments
• Invest in excess cash to optimize returns
• Manage banking relationships and requirements
• Support business units with financing and funding needs
• Control and manage cash flow, including foreign currency purchases and sales
• Manage short-term and long-term investments
• Process payments, including taxes, payroll, services, dividends, and other transactions
• Prepare and submit reports to Accounting on monthly transactions
• Communicate effectively with banks, local plant management, and corporate teams in English
• Coordinate work teams to apply resource control policies and procedures
• Apply general accounting and tax knowledge, as well as financial reporting standards (US GAAP, NIF, IFRS)
• Prepare corporate reports in the USA (cash flow, supplemental template, hedge, etc.)
• Issue reports for management and management-level presentations

Requirements:

• Experience with banking platforms and local and international remittances
• Intermediate English language skills for conversations and written communication
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Oracle Cash Management Module skills
• Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, NIF, and cash flow reports
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
• At least 4 years of experience in treasury
