About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join McCormick & Company as an HR Business Partner, supporting our Supply Chain and Operations teams in Italy. As a key member of our HR team, you will provide strategic HR leadership and expertise to drive business results and improve employee engagement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Change Management: Facilitate continuous improvement and implement new processes and procedures using strong change management skills.
  • Employee Support: Support and coach Plant managers and SC leaders to enable them to effectively manage their teams.
  • Organisational Design: In conjunction with the Plant leadership team, ensure organisational design and resource capability are in place in both locations Italy to enable achievement of business goals.
  • Recruitment: Coordinate local recruitment working closely with the Talent Acquisition team and Hiring managers, ensuring headcount control and workforce planning.
  • Employment Legislation: Stay current with employment legislation to ensure compliance and provide credible advice. Working closely with the line manager, is responsible to protect the Company from any claim in HR subjects on the Plants.
  • Employee Relations: Work in partnership with business managers to ensure effective management of employee relations issues by providing pragmatic HR solutions which meet business needs.
  • Employee Engagement: Act as contact for SC and Operations employees, to provide professional, pragmatic and effective advice.
  • Union Relations: Build/maintain good dialogue with local unions with the support of the line manager.
  • Talent Management: Ensure that the right plans are executed to continue to develop people according to business needs, talent management and budget (training, development plan).
  • Internal Communication: Maintain the relevant internal communication routines with employees: monthly meeting on the shop floor, general meetings, team briefs, local organisation announcements etc.

About You

  • Education: First degree (any discipline) & postgraduate qualification in Human Resources.
  • Experience: Proven experience in similar HR manager role in an FMCG, multi-national, manufacturing company.
  • Skills: Strong change management skills, the Prosci certification is preferred. Employee and industrial relations experience with demonstrated success in negotiations with unions. Good knowledge of local employment legislation in Italy. Experience of building development and training plans. Strong personal and team leadership skills. Ability to influence without formal authority at all levels of organization. Ability to handle complexity across multi-cultural and cross functional borders in a matrix organization. Good balance between Results oriented/People oriented. Structured and well organized. Good analytical skills. Self-starter, able to work remotely from line manager. Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels and cross functionally. Strong team worker locally and internationally, Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive outlook, even under pressure. Flexible to change and embrace new initiatives. Right balance between strategic thinking and execution. Mature attitude with the ability to work remotely from direct leadership. Fluent Italian and English (Other languages as a plus). Ability to travel between two locations in Italy.
