Position Overview

Hitachi Rail STS S.P.A. is seeking a dynamic and self-driven Project Engineer who excels in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling a diverse array of responsibilities ranging from technical execution to managerial and strategic oversight.

Key Responsibilities

In the context of Railway Signalling projects, particularly focusing on Italian High-Speed lines, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering comprehensive technical solutions during bidding and contract phases.
  • Managing technical interfaces with customers and relevant authorities.
  • Clearly communicating project objectives to the team and ensuring alignment with project timelines.
  • Monitoring document submissions for timeliness, quality, and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Executing technical activities in accordance with company procedures, including design reviews.
  • Overseeing the gathering, verification, and authorization of Technical Change Requests (TCR) and ensuring that approved changes are reflected in design activities and project cost revisions.
  • Maintaining an updated list of project technical risks and criticalities, in collaboration with functional managers and project managers.
  • Ensuring effective Document Management processes are followed, including submission and transmittal protocols.
  • Acting as a liaison for technical definitions and document delivery during on-site activities.
  • Verifying project engineering documents and monitoring compliance with the Verification and Validation (V&V) Plan.
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of Testing and Commissioning (T&C) activities, coordinating with other technology units involved in the project.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering.
  • Familiarity with railway signalling systems, architecture, and products.
  • Understanding of ERTMS systems and products.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies.
  • Skills in planning and monitoring project progress.
  • Experience in interface management.
  • Knowledge of commissioning processes.
  • Commitment to project quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with system engineering principles.

Educational Background

A degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, or Information Technology, or an equivalent technical qualification is required.

Language Proficiency

Proficient in English.
