About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our MAIT engineering team at D-Orbit.

As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the manufacturing processes of our cutting-edge programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical management of new manufacturing processes to ensure cost and quality targets for new programs.
  • Design and implement new production flow for complex systems, collaborating with the design team to incorporate design for manufacturability.
  • Ensure that manufacturing systems are capable of hitting volume rate, cost, and quality targets for new programs.
  • Advise on design improvements for components, subsystems, procedures, equipment, and tooling.
  • Support facilities development, floor layout, and material flow definition.
  • Continuously improve current operations to enhance efficiency.
  • Identify, design, and implement tooling for production phases.
  • Identify automation opportunities.
  • Author technical documents.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a Manufacturing & Production Engineering environment within the Aerospace industry.
  • Expertise in the industrialization of new products.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes and testing and detailed experience of all types of Manufacturing Systems.
  • Hands-on experience with complex systems.
  • Strong background in cost breakdown and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering, Mechanical/Production Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in implementing automation into production processes.
  • Expertise in KPIs.
  • Familiar with continuous improvement philosophies.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ECSS).
  • Fluency in Italian.
