About the Role

The Transport Area of the Florence School of Regulation at the European University Institute's Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies seeks a Research Assistant to support policy dialogue, policy-relevant research, training, and networking in the area of transport regulation in Europe. The successful candidate will work closely with the FSR Transport Project Directors to provide support in drafting and editing research outputs, developing networks and communication channels with key stakeholders, and contributing to the scientific organisation of workshops. Additionally, they will perform analytical and research tasks in the area of transport regulation and provide further assistance as required.

Key Responsibilities
• Drafting and editing research outputs, such as briefs, reports, and workshop summaries;
• Developing networks and communication channels with key stakeholders of FSR Transport;
• Contributing to the scientific organisation of workshops, and liaising with the RSC Conference Unit for event logistics;
• Performing analytical and research tasks in the area of transport regulation;
• Providing further assistance and performing additional tasks as required.

Requirements
• Master's degree in a field relevant to the position;
• Proven analytical, writing and communication skills;
• Demonstrated knowledge of EU policy, and a willingness to learn about transport and network industries;
• Strong organisational skills and ability to set and meet deadlines gathered through previous experience;
• Proven ability to work in a team and to take initiative;
• A one-page policy brief based on your personal experience as a passenger on the impact of transport regulation (covering areas of sustainability, digitalization or competition).
