Job OverviewThe Manager, Chief Engineer will oversee a team of Critical Facility Technicians, managing workflow, work order management, training plans, event management, customer communications, hiring, and performance management. This role requires extensive experience in mission-critical infrastructure installations, facility/plant engineering, and maintenance supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily engineering and operations functions at the facility, ensuring safe and effective operation of machinery and building systems.
- Hold employees accountable for preventive and corrective maintenance of facility equipment.
- Understand engineering and operational aspects of building systems, recognizing performance deficiencies and responding to operational and emergency situations.
- Manage contracted service work, including scope development, bidding, awarding, and administration of contracts.
- Train Critical Facilities Engineers in new processes and procedures.
- Direct and maintain site-specific preventive maintenance and work order programs.
- Author After-Action Reviews (RCA).
- Protect and improve the value of our assets, ensuring building machinery and systems meet or exceed expected life.
- Assist with operational and capital budget preparation.
- Ensure major projects are properly planned, executed, and closed out in accordance with best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Profound expertise in mission-critical infrastructure installations.
- Experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision, strongly preferred.
- Direct managerial experience and interpersonal skills, strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
- English and Italian language required.
