Job Title: Backend Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team at ING. As a Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and secure backend systems using Java 8 and/or 11, Springboot, and other relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, and ensure seamless integration with frontend applications.
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of backend systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Proficient knowledge of Java 8 and/or 11, Springboot, and other relevant technologies.
  • Experience with RESTful API development, SQL, and ORM technologies such as Hibernate.
  • Good understanding of DevOps principles, and experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization software, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Apache Kafka, Maven, IntelliJ, JUnit, and Mockito.
  • Good knowledge of code versioning tools, and CI/CD platforms (Git, Azure).
  • Database migrations tool: FlyWay.
  • Containerization software: Docker and OpenShift.
