Responsibilities

The Medical Director will play a strategic and operational role in providing optimal patient care, ensuring compliance with medical, ethical, and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing the medical strategy through the Medical Plan, aligned with the company's overall strategy
  • Coordinating the cluster oncology team and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the SRMs
  • Building and maintaining a professional network with key stakeholders, including medical professionals, pharmaceutical organizations, patient associations, and insurance companies
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest medical, scientific, and clinical knowledge in the relevant therapeutic area
  • Communicating balanced and substantiated scientific information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Reviewing and finalizing marketing materials
  • Contributing to cross-functional deliverables, such as Regulatory Affairs and Market Access
  • Executing the Risk Management Plan, if applicable
  • Facilitating the publication of local scientific and patient management data on KKI products
  • Ensuring a good understanding of the quality system within the company, including PV, product complaint/recall handling, and GDP
  • Liaising with local patient organizations to understand patients' needs and required patient support
  • Providing input on EMEA issues and projects
  • Ensuring an appropriate response to unsolicited scientific requests from HCPs for licensed products/brands
  • Developing KOL engagement plans and associated patient value insights and outcomes
  • Participating in advisory board meetings and clinical investigator meetings
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant medical/pharmacy/nursing/bioscience background, preferably with a higher degree
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Affairs, legal, and compliance regulations and authorities nationally
  • Extensive experience in Medical Affairs Department
  • In-depth knowledge of local, regional, and national healthcare systems and processes for allocation and delivery of care
  • A track record of successful working with cross-functional teams locally and internationally
  • High proficiency in English
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to understand healthcare professional perspectives and forge long-term relationships
  • Acts as a role model for others in line with Kyowa Kirin culture and values
