Electrical Project Engineer

We're seeking a skilled Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at nVent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power and control solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish technical requirements for electrical heat tracing projects through interpretation of specifications and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with internal design centers to meet project schedule and budgetary constraints
  • Monitor project progress and initiate corrective measures to ensure deadlines are met
  • Design electrical power and control solutions that meet project requirements
  • Ensure all bought-out equipment is correctly specified and meets project requirements
  • Complete technical bid analysis for bought-out equipment and lead technical discussions with vendors
  • Check and approve vendor design documents to ensure they meet project requirements and nVent standards
  • Represent nVent in engineering design discussions with clients and subcontractors
  • Participate in development and improvement initiatives, and undertake internal and external training and product awareness

Requirements:

  • Academic background in Electrical Engineering (Diploma/Degree level)
  • Previous experience in engineering activities, preferably in the Oil, Gas, or Petrochemical/Power industries (5-10 years)
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution, control, and monitoring, piping, hazardous area classification (ATEX and IEC norms)
  • Computer literate, able to use in-house design software packages and proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel)
  • Fluent in English language (oral and written), good knowledge of Italian language is mandatory
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, and good communicator
  • Dynamic and decisive personality, practical approach, able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and skills of persuasion, positive approach, and pro-active working attitude
  • Full driving license
