Salewa Brand General Manager Job Description

We are seeking a visionary Brand General Manager to lead our Salewa brand to new heights. Reporting directly to the CEO of the Oberalp Group, this role oversees Marketing, Design, and Product Management, with responsibility across multiple product categories, including apparel, footwear, and technical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Brand Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies to drive growth, increase market share, and enhance brand equity.
  • Product Management: Identify and drive opportunities through analysis of trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities. Oversee product management across all categories, ensuring alignment with market trends, effective pricing, and profitability.
  • Product Design: Ensure a clear design strategy for creating sustainable, progressive, and iconic products in all Salewa-relevant categories.
  • Marketing Leadership: Formulate and execute marketing strategies that align with the brand's vision and business goals. Ensure the creation of relevant brand content, campaigns, and communication tools, manage the overall marketing budget, and guarantee consistent brand messaging across all channels and in international markets.
  • Team Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing team in marketing, design, and product management. Establish performance metrics and lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

This role requires a strategic leader with deep brand management experience and a passion for the outdoors. The goal is to enhance Salewa's brand positioning, profitability, and market share on a global scale.

Profile: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in brand management, marketing, or product management within the outdoor or sporting goods industry. Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and leadership skills. Proven track record in international brand management and marketing strategies. Passion for outdoor and mountaineering sports and lifestyle. Excellent communication skills in English is a must. Proficiency in Italian and German is a plus.
