Senior Network Architect

Job Summary
Villanova University seeks a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join its Data Networks Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and maintaining the university's data and voice networks, ensuring high levels of service uptime and quality.

Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support redundant and resilient data/voice campus networks
Collaborate with team members to take a holistic approach to equipment lifecycle, emphasizing security and timely replacement of hardware and software
Engage in Continual Service Improvement to assess services and processes, identifying opportunities for enhancements or replacements
Facilitate knowledge transfer between units and generate quotes, purchase requests, and justification for procurement of equipment and services

Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combinations of relevant certifications, education, training, and work experience
5+ years' experience administering network equipment, working with large, complex campus networks, and deploying and supporting wireless infrastructure
Expert understanding of wired and wireless networking, bridging/switching/routing, network security, and network management
Thorough understanding of fiber optic and copper installation and support

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a higher education setting
Certifications in wired, wireless, and/or telephony networking work experience
Ability to apply empathy-based communications and actions to support customers
