About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Mechatronic/Assembly Engineer to join our Humanoid & Human Centred Mechatronics Research Line at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT). The selected candidate will be responsible for the assembly, upgrade, and maintenance of a new robotic platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and integrate mechanical and electronic components to create novel customized robot prototypes.
  • Inspect and evaluate mechanical hardware issues, and troubleshoot electromechanical problems.
  • Generate mechanical/mechatronic documentation and maintenance manuals for robot prototypes.
  • Operate 3D printing machines and standard workshop equipment and tools.
  • Interact with mechanical workshops and evaluate manufacturers and suppliers for non-standard parts.
Requirements
  • Expertise in the assembly of new robot mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of CAD software tools and experience in working with technical mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent hands-on skills in the assembly of electromechanical parts.
  • Good experience in interacting with mechanical workshop personnel and operating standard workshop machinery.
  • Strong problem-solving attitude and high motivation to learn.
