Business Unit Overview
ARO, a global leader in fluid management since 1930 and part of the Ingersoll Rand family since 1994, provides a variety of pumping solutions across sectors such as chemicals, life sciences, food & beverage, electronics, and industrial markets.
Role Overview
The ARO business unit is in search of a product manager to join the global product management team. This role will focus on overseeing the system components (accessory) portfolio while also managing select expanded category items aimed at light industrial markets.
The product manager will take charge of the profitability and breadth of their portfolio, collaborating with other product managers to enhance the system components range, ultimately improving our overall customer offerings.
This position is particularly dynamic, offering significant freedom to innovate and operate with an ownership mindset. The role grants the authority to experiment, learn quickly from failures, and develop numerous business cases annually. Furthermore, there will be ample opportunities for strategic sourcing initiatives, partnerships, and potential mergers and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio with a focus on cost and margin profiles, pricing strategies, value proposition development, and competitive positioning.
- Oversee a new product pipeline and lead new product development initiatives.
- Drive lifecycle management for the portfolio, including performance evaluations, relaunches, and rationalization efforts.
- Collaborate with sales and channel leadership to enhance product knowledge and promote product adoption.
- Develop and manage strategic plans, roadmaps, business cases, and value propositions.
- Analyze market and technology trends, competitive product developments, and other factors impacting the portfolio.
- Handle pricing discount requests while achieving margin and price realization targets.
- Conduct customer feedback activities to identify business, customer, and user needs through account reviews, stakeholder interviews, and partner surveys.
- Work with Demand Generation Marketing teams to create campaigns for respective products.
- Lead strategic sourcing decisions and localization strategies.
- Influence cross-functional teams to implement product development, integration, and commercialization plans to fulfill business objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical, Business, Economics, or Engineering with relevant experience. An MBA is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required, with a preference for experience in industrial B2B markets.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in customer engagement is highly desired.
- Familiarity with phase-gate product development cycles and/or sourcing is advantageous.
- Experience in a sales role or working with sales channels is a plus.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects while adhering to timelines.
- Ability to persuade others without formal authority.
Travel & Work Arrangements
- This position can be remote, with a preference for candidates located in Europe or India.
- Travel requirements are up to 20%.
