Illumia Trend is a prominent player in the Power and Gas Trading sector, recognized for its robust operations across Europe and its ongoing global expansion.
We are seeking an experienced Energy Gas Trader to enhance our Oil & Gas Desk's trading activities, with a particular emphasis on natural gas markets.
In this role, you will be part of a vibrant trading organization that deals with a variety of energy commodities (gas, power, coal, oil, emissions) while adhering to established profit and loss (P&L) and risk management protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement short to medium-term trading strategies for key energy gas markets.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to inform effective trading strategies.
- Develop a deep understanding of the primary factors influencing the Gas Market.
- Collaborate closely with the Analysis and IT teams to refine and deploy innovative trading strategies.
- Possess a strong grasp of the physical gas market, including transportation, supply, and LNG.
- Proactively identify and propose new trading opportunities, including cross-commodity trading (OIL, CO2, COAL).
Qualifications and Education
- A degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Proficient in quantitative analysis.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel; knowledge of VBA is a plus.
Personal Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in financial and energy market analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Results-driven approach with a focus on executing trading strategies.
- Experience in proprietary trading within European Gas Markets, optimizing P&L while adhering to risk and compliance standards.
- Proven success in P&L trading activities and associated risk management.
Preferred Skills
- A keen interest in financial markets, renewable energy, energy systems, and trading.
- Proficient IT skills, including knowledge of Python, VBA, Excel, R, C++, or similar programming languages.
Professional Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience in energy trading, with advanced knowledge of European Gas markets is required.
