About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior System Administrator Linux to join our client's team in Frascati, Italy. As a Junior System Administrator Linux, you will be responsible for the installation, administration, and management of operating systems and/or properly configure hardware and software on servers (e.g., install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software-related problems). Additionally, you will administer and operate VMWARE virtual environment, OpenStack cloud environment, and Kubernetes environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform installation, administration, and management of operating systems and/or properly configure hardware and software on servers.
• Administer and operate VMWARE virtual environment, OpenStack cloud environment, and Kubernetes environment.
• Plan and perform appropriate procedures, documentation, inventory assessment, and other procedures related to systems management.
• Monitor operated/administered environment and make recommendations relevant to system security, computer system performance, disk, and other components utilization.
• Monitor systems and applications performances to track operating efficiency.
• Test and implement technical solutions and provide strong operational support on virtualization architectures.
• Work with team to automate management tasks, streamline processes, and perform standard administration functions as needed.
• Conduct software and hardware evaluations, provide technical analysis, and implement systems to meet Customer's IT goals.
• Report status and flags issues, especially in a proactive manner.
• Participate to the On-Call service.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for an individual with at least a Secondary School diploma and at least 2 years of proven experience in the field of system/infrastructure administration or having participated in specific master/training on the relevant field. Good knowledge of Linux (RedHat based distributions, e.g., Centos, Red Hat) installation/administration and tuning is required. Independent knowledge of Linux automation/DevOps (e.g., Scripting, Ansible, Python..) is also required. Knowledge of Grafana, OpenSearch, and/or Elastic STACK, Kubernetes virtual environment, VMWare virtual environment, VMware automation (e.g., scripting reporting and deployments), OpenStack infrastructure, Microsoft Windows Server, and related management/administration tools, backup/restore techniques/solutions, High Availability installation/administration and tuning, network management, firewall, and security, and databases (Oracle/MySQL/Postgres) are an asset. Relevant certifications in the relevant technologies are a strong asset. Good understanding of ITIL practices and processes and personal skills such as good written and oral command of English (B1), capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability, and experience in team working are mandatory. Capacity of achieving schedule and milestones, capacity of working under pressure are also required.
