About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Milan. As a key member of our Infrastructure and Structural team, you will be responsible for supporting our projects in Italy and abroad.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Engineer: Collaborate with our Infrastructure and Structural teams on a range of projects, providing technical expertise and support.
  • Ground Investigation: Plan, supervise, and report on ground investigations to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
  • Design and Specifications: Prepare specifications and design reports for foundations, retaining structures, underground structures, slope stability, and earthworks.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate design solutions and advice to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, contributing to geotechnical research and collaborating with Arup Skills Networks, universities, and research partners.
  • Presentations and Reports: Develop and deliver written and verbal presentations, reports, and other communication materials.
  • Global Network: Engage with Arup's global Ground Engineering Network to share knowledge and best practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Membership with a relevant professional body (Ordine degli Ingegneri) or in the process of acquiring it.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including formal and informal presentations, written communications, and reports.
  • Interest and ability in digital space 3D modeling, scripting, or GIS would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • High motivation, proactivity, and willingness to take on new challenges.
