Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and transportation benefits. Our salary step scale for this position type is based on benchmarks against school districts and charter schools in the regions where we operate.

$62,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced teacher who can join our community of educators dedicated to providing high-quality education to our students. As an English teacher at KIPP Public Schools Northern California, you will be responsible for:

  • Daily lesson planning and long-term planning using curriculum and resources to align with KIPP's academic vision and goals.
  • Analyzing data regularly to identify student academic trends and inform instructional practices.
  • Maintaining a positive, warm, inclusive, rigorous, and engaging classroom environment that incorporates Restorative Practices and Social Emotional Learning.
  • Implementing culturally responsive classroom management strategies to create a safe environment for all students to learn and achieve.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A valid teaching credential or eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit or Short Term Staff Permit.
  • A B.A./B.S degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience as an educator teaching students with similar demographics to our KIPP Public Schools Northern California student community.
  • Strong content area knowledge and skills building relationships with students, families, and communities.
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications (Google Classroom, Hangout, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
  • The ability to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning when needed.
