ROLE: SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL

Objective of the Role:

Deliver advanced legal guidance and expertise concerning legal matters arising from business interactions with clients, partners, and subcontractors.

This role is designed to assist the business and the Head of Legal/Head of Legal and Contract Management in all legal issues necessitating senior legal acumen, particularly:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, assess, and negotiate contracts or other legal documents while managing acceptable risk levels.
  • Assist the business in all legal and contractual issues, including claims management and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct legal and contractual assessments of tender submissions.
  • Support the business in proactively managing and directing litigation, arbitration, or other dispute-related matters.
  • Oversee corporate law issues.
  • Advocate for the Alstom Code of Ethics and uphold the highest standards of ethical behavior.

Performance Metrics:

Goals, targets, and performance metrics are established annually in alignment with the company's financial objectives and the General Counsel's goals for the Legal, Compliance, and Contract Management Function.

Educational Qualifications:

Essential:

Law degree in business law (Master II)

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in an international business setting or law firm.
  • Proficient in international contracts with prior exposure to global practices through education or work experience.
  • Knowledgeable about public tenders.
  • Exceptional proficiency in the English language.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Open-minded and solution-focused.

  • Adept at providing sound risk assessments and reasoning.
  • Willingness to take initiative and assume responsibilities.
