About Hitachi Vantara Corporation
">We are a leading provider of railway infrastructure solutions and are seeking an experienced Maintenance Field Engineer to join our team in Napoli, Italy. As a Maintenance Field Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance of our railway vehicles and infrastructure.
Job Description
">This role involves working closely with our engineering team to develop and implement maintenance plans that meet the contractual requirements of our clients. You will also analyze data from various systems to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to optimize maintenance activities.
About the Role
">- You will work with our suppliers to ensure that they meet the quality standards required by our clients.
- You will collaborate with our operations team to resolve technical issues and improve overall system performance.
- You will provide training to our maintainers on new procedures and best practices.
- You will conduct failure analysis to identify root causes and suggest corrective actions.
- You will validate maintenance manuals and telediagnostic messages to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- You will report maintenance and safety defects, operational events, and failures to our clients.
Requirements
">- You should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- You should have at least 2 years of experience in railway vehicle maintenance engineering applications.
- You should have previous work experience in the railway maintenance sector, with a focus on maintenance plan optimization, complex troubleshooting, and RAMS analysis.
- You should be willing to take on big challenges with large-scale regional projects.
- You should be able to perform vehicle system analysis and interpret contract specifications.
- You should be able to read, understand, and interpret drawings, schematics, and cable plans.
- You should be available to travel short distances for extended periods (more than 60% of the time).
Desirable Skills
">- Previous experience in maintenance field engineering on railway fleets.
- Basic working knowledge of rail train subsystems such as Automatic Train Supervision, Vehicle, Telecommunication, STB, Pneumatic brake, traction converter, HVAC, etc.
- Basic understanding of software configuration management (CM) and software programming logic.
- Basic working knowledge of statistical analysis programs.
- Operation and maintenance processes.
- Previous experience on ECM projects and homologation planning.
- Railway operations and signaling principles.
- Planning and organization.
- Spare part analysis, definition, and forecast setup according to return of experience.
- Design to maintain and continuous improvement willingness and attitude.
