Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive professional to manage our global supply chain at Fortna. As a Shipping specialist, you will be responsible for developing and managing detailed load schedules to ensure efficient transportation of machinery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Loading Planning: Utilize your analytical skills to create and implement load schedules that optimize transportation efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Export Documentation: Prepare and verify all necessary documentation for international shipments, ensuring compliance with export regulations and adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Packaging Oversight: Monitor and coordinate packaging activities performed by third-party suppliers to guarantee quality and timelines, ensuring seamless integration with our logistics operations.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with the Administration team for accurate and timely invoicing, working closely with the Procurement team and Production department to arrange transportation and oversee the pickup of machinery manufactured by external parties.
  • Storage Solutions: Propose and manage external storage solutions for materials to optimize space utilization and logistics, reducing lead times and improving overall efficiency.
  • Project Planning: Interface with Project Managers and Workshop Supervisors to align production schedules with logistical flows, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Logistics Flow Management: Ensure seamless coordination of inbound and outbound logistics, addressing any challenges that arise and implementing corrective actions to maintain optimal supply chain performance.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within logistics, supply chain, or transportation, preferably in the industrial or automation machinery sector.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and proficiency in managing export documentation and logistics processes.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Other Requirements: Familiarity with ERP systems and logistics software is a plus, proficiency in English, and additional languages are an asset.
