Job Title: Project Construction Manager
Job Summary:
The Project Construction Manager will lead all construction activities related to the renovation of the hotel Splendido and Villa Beatrice in Italy. This role is responsible for overseeing and directing projects to completion, ensuring successful delivery of the construction phase, and monitoring compliance with building and safety regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage construction works, coordinating activities and ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Prepare and manage estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources.
- Liaise with engineers, architects, and other consultants to maintain optimal communication.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to develop positive working relationships.
- Identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues, immediately reporting any issues and monitoring the actions taken in the controlling/rectification process.
- Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements.
- Assist in value engineering to ensure high-quality design and performance of all specified FF&E.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review work progress on a daily basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging ones.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Use utilities and resources in a responsible manner to control wastage.
- Communicate relevant information to the department, line manager, and across departments, as appropriate.
- Comply with safe working practices, Health and Safety policy, and ensure accidents/defects are reported immediately.
- Attend learning and development courses and complete eLearning modules, as required.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
