Job Description

BCS Automotive Interface Solutions is a leading provider of system solutions for vehicle interior systems, ensuring safe and comfortable control for cars today and tomorrow. With a rich automotive history spanning 70 years, we specialize in creating advanced technologies that shape the future.

We are seeking a talented Junior Firmware Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing firmware for embedded units, working closely with project leaders, hardware designers, and software designers to estimate effort and deliver high-quality software modules.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop software code for embedded systems
  • Deliver software modules and related documentation
  • Define and maintain detailed software module designs
  • Perform unit tests on developed software modules
  • Conduct root cause analysis on software defects
  • Collaborate with project leaders, hardware designers, and software designers to estimate effort and deliver high-quality software modules
  • Evaluate and escalate firmware issues and risks to software project leaders
  • Work with software teams and project leaders to understand customer, system, and software requirements and design specifications
  • Share knowledge and guarantee company know-how with team members
  • Engage in technical discussions with customers to explain solutions or understand their requests

Requirements:

  • Electronic Engineering Degree or Information Science Degree
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in real-time 8/16/32-bit embedded systems development
  • High-level C/C++ and Assembler programming skills, including MISRA C programming rules
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI)
  • Hardware electronics know-how, including 8-16-32-bit architecture, I/O standard interfaces, and schematics reading
  • Deep understanding of tool chains, including emulators, compilers, and laboratory instruments
  • Diagnostics protocols (UDS, J1939) and AUTOSAR expertise
  • Polarion and Git knowledge is a plus
  • Fluent English and willingness to travel for short trips in Italy, Europe, USA, and Asia
